The licensing layer, explained

EV charger installation is licensed electrical work: certified electricians under an ECRA/ESA contractor licence, with ESA permits — plus load calculations and, in many homes, service/panel upgrades. The EVITP (Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Training Program) certification is the recognized specialty credential, and some rebate programs require it. Condo installs add EV-readiness rules and board approvals; commercial adds DC fast-charging and utility coordination.
