Concrete & Forming

No provincial trade licence required

Concrete work is not a compulsory trade in Ontario — there is no licence required to start — but ACI certification, the Cement Finisher (244G) credential, and silica-dust controls separate the credible operators.

The licensing layer, explained

Concrete and forming is non-compulsory: no provincial trade licence is required to start. Cement (Concrete) Finisher (244G) is a voluntary certificate. Reinforcing falls to rodworkers (452A). What you do need is a municipal business licence, building permits, WSIB, insurance, and silica-exposure controls under O. Reg. 490/09.

Concrete defects (settlement, cracking) drive completed-operations claims years later. Carry $2M CGL and keep completed-operations coverage active.
