The credential, explained

Acoustics consulting is not a licensed profession, but the work is governed by standards — in Ontario, the MECP's NPC-300 noise guidelines drive the noise and vibration studies required for many planning approvals. Recognized credentials include Canadian Acoustical Association membership and INCE Board Certification, and many consultants are professional engineers. Where the work is engineering, a P.Eng and PEO Certificate of Authorization apply.
